The Dukan Diet is fast becoming the weight loss diet of choice all across the World. When you start talking to Eva about Irish people and their attitude to their weight and themselves, you see where her frustration comes from and where, perhaps, there is a culture clash. In many ways, what Eva cannot understand, is why people have such resistance to improving their lives and themselves. The Finnish attitude may be a bit tough, but they have great self-belief, and place great value on themselves, in a way that we don't. If they have a problem, they want to fix it. No, they don't just want to fix it, because that allows for the Irish way of putting up obstacles of excuses; they are compelled to fix it. The bottom line is that they have a healthier, less-apologetic relationship with their egos, which drives them to make the best of themselves.
It is not hard to understand why we gain weight here. America is the home of the lovely McDonald's, Burger King, and many other fast food restaurants, and we all know those foods are not good for you. In America, fast food is available at every corner and so affordable. Us students, since we do not cook often, become big consumers of these fatty foods without realizing it.

Eating wholesome food rich in nutrients and vitamins could hardly make one fat, of course, calories do matter at some point. Butter, animal fats, coconut oil are all much healthier than modern 'cholesterol free" vegetable seed oil (too high in Omega 6 and turns rancid easily-bad for health!).
