FOMO is strong for me, so this is a great read. I never really thought about it this way. Mine is more about activities than vacations and material things. Especially in college: there were so many times when I should have stayed in to study or rest, but I couldn't stand the thought of missing out on some party (where I and everyone would usually get too drunk to even remember if we had a good time or not) was too strong. It's an expensive phenomenon, and not just in terms of money.
