Though the world of Game of Thrones isn't a pretty one on paper, Cyanide's adaptation is ugly for a host of other reasons. Characters and environments are grisly for a current release on an engine - Unreal Engine 3 - that has proven itself to be extraordinarily flexible. Animations are horrid, a realization that rears its head again and again during conversations in which character models overreact to the dialogue like actors forced to convey peaks of emotion in silent films. These problems are especially disappointing as you delve deeper into the experience, where Cyanide's vision for Game of Thrones becomes illuminated and you realize the studio has some fantastic ideas.
An instant critical hit upon its debut, Modern Family tells the story of several intertwined broods, including the Dunphys, a goofy if affectionate upper-middle-class family led by Phil (Ty Burrell) and Claire (Julie Bowen); the Tucker-Pritchetts, the groundbreaking prime-time gay couple led by Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cameron (Eric Stonestreet); and the Pritchett-Delgados, the oft-caustic yet loving duo headed up by Jay (Ed 'Neill) and Gloria (Sofia Vergara).
The primary user interface elements displayed over the video are the info banner and the scrub bar. The information banner takes up almost the entire top half of the screen and provides quick access to the current program's description and other details. The Info button on the remote brings it forward whenever you want, and an abridged version of it is displayed every time you change the channel. Current channel information plus date and time are also shown in the banner, along with quick access to the last four channels you've watched, your favorites channel lists, closed caption settings, audio and video details, parental controls and the ability to enable picture-in-picture.
It's not to say that women need to be accommodating to be likable or that we have to subjugate our integrity to get along or our strength to be vulnerable, even. Our relationships shouldn't come at the expense of our self-respect. And, there are some people you just shouldn't have in your life because they will work your last nerve. However, there is value in magnanimity. There is value in forgiveness. There is value in rising above. And those are values that should be promoted in these stressful times. There is latitude in determining how exactly those values manifest in your life, nobody's perfect and self-interest isn't a dirty hyphenate. But I am almost certain that an attempt at civility would result in a state of being that doesn't involve an adult temper tantrum every other day and does not present women as witches and harridans who have no control whatsoever over their emotions.
Another way to seduce her is to add some romance to your day. This is true most especially on a day that you are feeling in the mood for sex. You needn't make a big gesture or spend a lot of money. Leave a little note someplace only she will see it (her makeup drawer, on top of her handbag). Or pour her a glass of wine or sparkling water and bring her a plate of cheese and fruit when she comes home at the end of the day.
